When it comes to reducing translation costs: think smarter, not cheaper.

When it comes to reducing the cost of your translation – it’s not about being cheaper, it’s about being smarter.

At The Translation People we combine two important variables to ensure we offer clients our most competitive pricing, while also ensuring the highest levels of translation quality.

These two variables are: how we work and the latest technology.

How we work

When you work with us, you are assigned a dedicated account manager. This individual will be one of our fantastic team of account managers, all of whom come from linguistic and multilingual backgrounds, and have unrivalled experience in the best way to manage translation projects. They will be your point of contact for current and future projects. We get to know you – your preferred workflows and ways of working – and also understand you as a company. We build an in-depth understanding of your corporate vocabulary, your tone of voice, and what you want to achieve with your translations.

The result of this is that we can get to work on your projects more quickly, brief translators more precisely and continually strive towards a “right-first-time” approach. We can also work out the most effective way to approach your project when it comes to the use of technology (more on this below!)

This all helps to reduce time spent and increase efficiency, all of which is reflected in our competitive pricing. Testament to this is the fact that 100% of our top 50 clients in 2018 placed repeat business with us in 2019 and some of these customers have been working with us for over 20 years.

The latest technology

There is a huge difference between the technology that we use at The Translation People compared to freely available online translation tools. We work with some of the most advanced technology solutions available in order to improve the speed and quality of our translation work.

A perfect example of this is Translation Memory. This intelligent software will remember words, phrases and even entire sections of text that we have previously translated for you. The software will then automatically prompt the translator when these phrases come up again, both within the current document we are working on and in future projects.  And every translation memory package is bespoke and confidential to your business.

The result is less words requiring translation, significant time savings and cost reductions.

Of course, technology on its own is not enough. More important is how we use the technology and at The Translation People we make sure we use it in a way that is right for the project at hand. A great deal of input from both the translator(s) and account manager is still needed in order to make sure that the project runs smoothly and the desired quality is achieved.

By focussing on a clear understanding of your business and your objectives, your account manager can advise on the most appropriate translation method, to ensure first-rate results at an optimum cost.

And here’s the proof

At The Translation People, the way we work and the technology we use helps our customers to reduce the cost of their translation projects every day. Here are just a few examples:

  • Our use of Translation Memory allowed us to reuse multiple legacy translations for a client, meaning they paid £7,300 for a project that would have cost £16,978 if not working in this way – a saving of 57%!
  • Translation Memory usage meant that in a 46,451-word project, only 18,933 words actually needed translation from scratch, with the rest being reused via the Translation Memory, saving our client over £3,000!
  • A client came to us with a project which would have cost £490 at face value – the way we work meant our customer paid just £90!

These are just a few examples of how we help our customers reduce the cost of their translation, but they are all borne from our commitment to match customer-centric account management with the latest technological solutions.
