The Translation People presents Achievement in Translation Award at Aston University

The Translation People presented the Achievement in Translation Award at Aston University Birmingham in July. The award, which honours outstanding achievements while studying translation, has been an integral part of the Translation People’s cooperation with Aston University over the last nine years. This year Sally Edwards was the well-deserved winner.

Jasmin Schneider (Operations Manager) awarded the prize personally and congratulated Miss Edwards: “I am glad to present the Achievement in Translation Award on behalf of our company. Our industry suffers from the lack of new translators coming onto the market. Therefore it’s important to honour outstanding performance during the studies and support our young talents as early on as possible.”

Consequently, it is also a priority of The Translation People to continue the successful cooperation with the University due to the many mutual benefits such cooperation provides. For example, students have a rare opportunity to gain important inside information and insight into the actual work of a professional translator. Similarly, award ceremonies like this are vital for promoting and motivating future translators.
