The Translation People

The Translation People is a translation services provider, with four UK offices located in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London and also offices in Paris, Bonn and Boston. We translate and typeset documents for a large number of sectors including manufacturing, legal, financial and medical.

History

The Translation People brand came into existence in 2008 after the acquisition of Roevin Translation Services in 2007 by former Roevin Director Steve Wilde and his business partner David Nichols.

Initially the business formed part of the Alpnet organisation (now SDL) and has over 30 years of experience. Alpnet sold part of their office network together with Computype, an earlier Alpnet acquisition, to Roevin in 1999. The business, which was an amalgamation of translation and foreign language typesetting services merged with Roevin's Technical Publications business to provide clients with a complete document service from the creation of technical documents to translation and production.

Many of the staff working for Alpnet in the 1990s still remain with the company today!

Over the last 10 years, the business has worked with numerous industries and whilst retaining the ability to create highly technical documentation. The Translation People specialise in providing translation services and interpreters. The company deals with the translation and production of everything from marketing material to clinical trials, financial reports, websites and software localisation.

The Translation People has recently joined forces with SDL (a world leader in global information management systems) as part of their LSP partnership scheme. As a consequence of this partnership, The Translation People are consulted on the development of some of the translation industry's leading software packages such as TradosTM .
